Founded in 1995 by Reiulf Ramstad, the practice has built an international reputation for architecture that responds closely to landscape, place and cultural context. The studio has delivered a number of significant projects across cultural buildings, public institutions and residential developments, including the new Statens Museum for Kunst in Thy, Denmark, and the transformation of Gothenburg Central Station. With its strong design profile and experience working across complex cultural and public projects, Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter brings valuable expertise to Verka Collective’s growing network of architecture studios.
“For us, architecture is about more than buildings. It is about creating places where people can live, connect and belong – shaped by the interplay of landscape, light, materials and community. At its best, architecture gives places character and a sense of belonging, helping shape societies where people truly feel at home,” says founder Reiulf Ramstad.
The addition of Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter marks another step in Verka Collective’s strategy to bring together strong, design-led studios on a shared European platform. Within the collective, each practice retains its identity and leadership while gaining access to a stronger strategic and organisational framework.
“Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter represents architecture at the very highest level and adds a strong design profile to our network. With their international recognition and strong position in the Nordic region, they are an important contribution to Verka Collective’s continued development,” says Sonja Stockmarr, CCO of Verka Collective.
Following the acquisition, Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter will continue to operate under its own name and existing leadership. The studio will maintain its presence in Norway while its Danish activities will be centred in Copenhagen. As part of Verka Collective, the practice will gain access to a broader professional network, increased project capacity and new opportunities for collaboration across the group.
“By joining Verka Collective, we gain a strong strategic foundation for our continued development. We maintain our architectural identity while gaining access to new opportunities for collaboration and larger projects,” says Reiulf Ramstad.
The addition of Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter follows the recent launch of Verka Collective’s growth strategy, which sets an ambition of reaching more than 1,000 employees by 2028. At the same time, the group announced the acquisition of the German architecture practice Heine Plan in Hamburg. With Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter joining the collective, Verka Collective further strengthens its presence in Northern Europe.
