Folkemødet 2026: Collaboration is key to strengthening the built environment

Last week, Verka Collective took part in Folkemødet on Bornholm, joining clients, partners, colleagues, decision-makers, and organisations from across Denmark for three days of discussions, debates, and new connections.

We returned inspired by the many conversations we had and encouraged by the openness, curiosity, and willingness to explore new ideas that characterised the event.

One theme emerged again and again: the future will be shaped through collaboration. Across disciplines, across organisations, and across sectors. In a time of increasing complexity, there is a growing recognition that the challenges and opportunities ahead are best addressed together.

We also experienced a strong interest in Verka Collective and the role that new forms of collaboration can play in strengthening the built environment industry. For us, that was particularly rewarding. Verka Collective is founded on the belief that independent companies can achieve more by sharing knowledge, capabilities, and perspectives while maintaining their individual identities.

Folkemødet reinforced our conviction that there is a real appetite for new ways of organising, collaborating, and creating value. It also confirmed that many of the conversations taking place across the industry today are closely aligned with the ideas that underpin Verka Collective.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to meet with us, share perspectives, challenge assumptions, and discuss the future of our industry.

A special thank you goes to Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects. It was a pleasure to participate in Folkemødet together and to be part of the many inspiring conversations throughout the week.

We return from Bornholm with renewed energy, valuable insights, and many new relationships that we look forward to developing further in the months ahead.
